Coach Kevin Boyle gives coaches and players an inside look at some of the effective drills and concepts he has used to build a basketball dynasty at Montverde Academy in this video.
The video begins with some of the basic building block drills (Everyday Drills) that Coach Boyle uses on a regular basis in practice. These drills emphasize fundamentals on both sides of the ball. There are drills for exerting defensive pressure and contesting shots as well as offensive drills that promote ball security and emphasize how to attack pressure.
After numerous examples of offensive and defensive drills, Coach Boyle turns his attention to showing coaches how to build an offensive system that features a fast-paced transition attack that flows into a half-court offense that emphasizes playing with pace and cutting with purpose.
Coach Boyle takes players through a variety of offensive attacks all of which start with a similar looking set-up to confuse the defense.
Some of the offensive concepts featured include:
- The use of on and off-ball screening actions
- How to set up back-door cuts for scoring
- Spacing and rolling ideas for screeners
With great attention to detail and timing, Coach Boyle shows how to get shooters open and different options for attacking the paint.
Coaches will come away from this video with some great ideas that can be adapted to their own programs and offenses as well as some turn-key solutions for creating a more efficient offense.
The solid combination of offensive concepts and emphasis on fundamentals is a hallmark of videos by Coach Boyle and this video is no exception. With his typical high energy style and attention to detail, Coach Boyle shows how you can help your program improve both offensively and defensively!
