Practice Session # 1
Coach Paris begins his first of two practices that feature a wide variety of offensive and defensive 'daily vitamins' that helps to build your team's techniques in both a half-court and full-court setting.
Players begin their work with a series of chair drills that showcase moves and variations - done both with and without defenders. Coach Paris places an emphasis on other stations being worked on as well, such as walling-up and rebounding the basketball.
Breaking into a full-court drills segment of practice, Coach Paris unveils a '5-Player Weave Drill' that flows seamlessly into advantage and disadvantage scenarios for your team - with goals specified for both offensive and defensive players.
Ending the first day's practice, Paris focuses on the defensive side of the court while also working in some of his offense half-court actions. Players participate in a '4-Player Shell Drill,' while the offense maintains a goal of attaining a 'perfect possession,' which builds into 5-on-5 scenarios. Coach Paris finishes the practice with a cool down shooting routine that focuses on taking shots from multiple perimeter locations.
Practice # 2
Coach Paris begins the second practice with his players' stretch routine. This is a terrific pre-warm up routine! Paris then flows into his position breakdown drills and full-court drills that build to his transition and half-court skills work.
The next segment is Coach Paris' 5-on-5 offense and defense half-court work. Paris shares a wide array of coaching nuggets that will help the communication of what you are trying to get done in the practice of your half-court defense and offense - especially in terms of stressing the minute details and points of emphasis that means the difference in successful execution.
Coach Paris concludes with a focus on executing 'Horns Action' and as in day one practice, finishes with shooting drills.
